I noticed that in commit `templates: Fix base template block
customization`, the behaviour for defining base template blocks has
changed. This seems nice, but would you consider adding example of how
to do this to the documentation?

In addition, maybe we should make it really clear in the manpage that
defining the template blocks is optional.

I did update the documentation to reflect this. If you think it could be
clearer, please send a patch.

Just revisited this when clearing out my inbox, and have sent a
mostly-trivial patch to indicate that defining template blocks is
optional.
