Hello!

In the Netherlands we have several Open Source initiatives for municipalities / cities like:

https://openzaak.org/en/ (case management for services provided to citizens)

https://docs.fsc.nlx.io/introduction (secure communication between organizations)

https://gitlab.com/commonground/haven/haven (Kubernetes based application hosting)

I was wondering whether other countries have similar initiatives. It might be nice to share knowledge in this area. I myself work in the field of application integration.

Have a nice weekend!

Hello Jaco

For example OS2 in DK, or OpenMairie in France. Also look at Kivos in
Sweden, or Adullact in, again France, or Imio in Belgium. And
Pagopa/Tream Digitale in Italy. At the level of municipalities there
will be pooling of this kind of work in most if not all Member States.

The European Commission has an observatory where it tries to gather all
of this kind of info, osor.eu (redirects to joinup). (I was somwewhat
involved in OSOR.)

Kind greetings

Hello Jaco,

- https://adullact.org is a 20yo NGO that helps municipalities using
Free Software. It hosts code at https://gitlab.adullact.net and it
  maintains https://comptoir-du-libre.org, among other products.

DINUM (Interministerial Digital Directorate, hosting the FR OSPO)
has a longtime partnership with ADULLACT, still active today.

- https://opensource.paris.fr/ossparis is the OSPO of the city of
  Paris, developing https://lutece.paris.fr/lutece/.

- https://agence-cohesion-territoires.gouv.fr is a national agency
with an internal "incubator" which publishes source code under a
  Free Software license:

  https://github.com/incubateur-territoires
  https://gitlab.com/groups/incubateur-territoires

This incubator also contributes to Grist, an FLOSS alternative to
  Airtable, see https://www.getgrist.com.

As Gijs mentioned, OSOR is listing many of these local initiatives.

In my opinion, a dedicated OSPO network for large European metropoles
would be very useful.

HTH,
