Dear Fabio,

I've been working on translating Confy into German recently; I thought I'd
submit this patch as a first pass. I have used the Italian PO file as a basis
for the German translation, so every string included in po/it.po is also
translated in po/de.po. As for style, it's a pretty direct translation, with
most of the phrasing very close to the English strings, and uses a moderately
formal register.

It looks as if there are some additional strings in the French and Swedish PO
files, so please let me me know if these should be included in the German
translation as well.

Some of the terms don't quite translate directly between English and German. In
particular, 'event' and 'talk' are used somewhat interchangeably in the English
version, so in the interests of consistency I've used the German words
»Veranstaltung« for anything referring to a conference (e.g. FOSDEM), and
»Vortrag« for individual talks/presentations/sessions within a conference.

It would be good if any 'deutsche Muttersprachler' could use Confy with this
translation and make any necessary corrections. In addition, with FOSDEM coming
up next month, if it is possible for you to publish a new release with this
translation in order that German attendees can more comfortably make use of
Confy, that would be even better! :)

The "source of truth" on what strings are used is `po/confy.pot` which 
is generated from source code, which I should remember to update more 
often...

I will prepare for a new release and update `confy.pot` (and all .po 
files), so we can try to have everything correctly translated.

Yes, that's my fault.
I tend to use use 'talk' for 'presentations' and 'event' for 
'conference', but pentabarf refer to 'presentations' as 'event', and I 
mixed the terms too often.
In a future release, a revision of all texts is necessary...

Nevermind.. the pot file is ignored and used to create or update po 
files.
So correct way to start a new translation is: add lang code in 
`po/LINGUAS`, then run `makepo.sh` script in repo root..

Sounds good; is there a preferred way of updating the source strings as
well as the msgid fields in each .po file if I were to do that, or is it
just a matter of using 'sed' on each of the files?

Right, although it occurs to me that not all conferences have talks
exclusively; there could also be seminars, workshops etc. I suppose
there's no way of being precise about this within the GUI without more
metadata in the calendar files that Confy reads. I think the situation
is pretty much fine as it is though :)

Source strings have to be updated in source file.

Then you can submit a patch and wait for me to merge and update po
files.

Or you could try to run "makepo.sh" and let it to update the po files,
and send everything in a patch.

I would prefer a patch without po file if it's a 'big' change (e.g. the
