The information is a bit scattered indeed. It's explicitly called alpha
for a good reason. Besides, perhaps, the owners haven't decided and settled
on exact business model yet. Alpha and beta trials will help with that
too.

There is also this other bit at <https://meta.sr.ht/register>
about contributor/free vs maintainer/paid accounts. You have to be
signed out to avoid a redirect to see it. Alternatively, see it here:

Quote from <https://sourcehut.org/pricing>:

"Notice: sr.ht is currently in alpha, and the quality of the service may
reflect that. As such, payment is currently optional, and only
encouraged for users who want to support the ongoing development of the
site. For a summary of the guarantees and limitations that the alpha
entails, see this reference [1]."

I can relate to your desire to keep everything related together.
A few thoughts to muse:

Technical. You could bypass MIME filtering and in-line your binary in

The page <https://sourcehut.org/consultancy> also fails to load images
hosted at l.sr.ht. I remember seeing them not so long ago: according to
my browser history data, it was around the end of November 2023.
So, if it helps, the regression took place some time between then and now.

CSP/CORS misconfig on sourcehut.org/l.sr.ht 9 months ago

From Maxim to ~sircmpwn/sr.ht-discuss

Hello. I've spotted a small issue on the Sourcehut blog. The following
page does not display the image (chat screenshot) in a browser, although
the file is accessible directly. It must be some CSP/CORS
misconfiguration, I suppose.
