Hi there!
I bought a PinePhone after seeing a demo video of sxmo and it arrived yesterday. As for now, I'm really impressed how well it is working.
In the documentation, you mention apps that are automatically added to the menu if present, so I tried lagrange and surf.

Both didn't work, lagrange only showing a blackscreen, and surf waiting for an X window. I think both problems are linked to sway. I have no experience with sway, only with dwm on another machine.

My questions:
- Has someone experienced another good alternative to surf to use with sway?
- Has someone been able to run lagrange within sway? I tried both packages from stable and edge, but both only show a black screen. I'm also willing to try another browser if someone has a good recommendation.
- Should we document "sway"-related problems somewhere, or is it not the right place to do in this project?

Cheers,
miluxmilux

Ya lagrange is bugged on pp for a while now :( I also got the black
screen.

Surf is a X11 program that isnt wayland compatible. If you got xwayland
(which you probably got), it should works. Dunno what is your issue
precisely.

Using firefox seems the simplest way to browse the web today on pp. We
are many that would wish a lighter solution but there isnt yet and
probably for a long time.

Firefox is the more complete, stable and pleasant solution atm. You
should also be sure to install mobile-config-firefox which bring mobile
configurations to firefox.

nah !

Those arent sway related problems.

See ya,

Hi!

I don't think Lagrange not running on pp is sway-related directly. I run sway on fedora desktop and lagrange runs perectly there. I think it has to do with opengl, though I get the black screen also when switching to a non-opengl rendering mode. I got similar problems trying kitty out. It would be nice to have lagrange on the pp though, for now I have been doing fine with amfora in the terminal.

Hi all,
@Stacy: thanks for pointing me at mobile-config-firefox, I'll try it
out. I installed Qutebrowser and I think I can live with that for now :)

@Johan: thanks for pointing me in that direction. I'll see what I can
do!

Cheers,
miluxmilux

PS: Your response is a little bit painful to read on the sr.ht
website (line-length and quoted response) :)

Regarding Lagrange, it's possibly SDL-on-wayland related.

I had the same issue with Wesnoth, but after I changed the UI scaling settings in dwm, it worked correctly in sway. Both are SDL-based, so I tried the trick with Lagrange. No success.

BTW, Wesnoth works almost perfectly on the PP, if you have tiny fingers. Almost like 2022 is the Year Of Linux Gaming On The Phone.
