Wslg gives you native linux (no conpty) which is really great. The only
downside is that wslg windows are not windows native, i.e. border snapping and
all that don't work, make not-so-great Windows window handling downright
terrible ... This can be worked around by using an X server installed in
Windows and not using WSLg, but I've never got around to trying that out.

I know of one alternative way of bypassing conpty, by using a Windows native
ssh client that happens to support fancy terminal stuff and running an ssh
server on in WSL. It so happens wezterm and contour
(https://github.com/contour-terminal/contour) are such ssh clients. That
actually works pretty fine, and you get native Windows windows.

I also don't like wezterm too much in honesty ... On Linux I 100% use contour,
it's a bit less stable on Windows, which why I sometimes run wezterm, but it's
getting better. You could maybe try that out also. Ofc is you don't mind the
windowing thing running anything with wslg is the best option.

Best,
Bence
