Hello Cheogram,

Thank you I have used Cheogram for about 1.5 years now on my Above phone
w an Above SIM, and it's great

I am now trying to add an account to Cheogram on my Above phone - and
connect/ log in to a private server, using IPv6.

I am able to log in from a separate device (w Gajim) so, I know that my
ISP supports this
(https://help.sonic.com/hc/en-us/articles/15676915256343-IPv6)

But I have not been able to add the account on my Above phone w
Cheogram.

Please can you inform how to add a new account on the Cheogram ap using
IPv6 ?

In the menu box where it says "hostname" do I put the IPv6 address ?

And if so what is the format ? should it have brackets [ ] around it ?
Should it be prefaced http:// ?

I have tried all these ways, but always get "Server not found"

Is there any guidance re connecting using IPv6 on Android/GraphneOS ?

Thank you, Fey Adelstein

In general you should not use this advanced hostname/port configuration. It
is hidden by default for a reason and mostly only exists for
testing/connecting to broken servers. If your DNS points at an IPv6 address
(with AAAA or SRV pointing at something with an AAAA) then it should just
work.
