GPG Integration is a topic currently addressed over at
rjarry/aerc-devel by Tim, who is currently adding system-GPG support. If
mature enough, I think it's possible (and probably even a great idea) to
add a locate command – which in GPG's case uses WKD. For the inbuilt PGP
module, it would also be possible to add this.

Hoping to get some time to work on it next week!

A locate command is a good idea. I was thinking of adding a config param
for '--auto-key-locate', too.

I'd say this could be turned on by default and the gpg commands could be
edited if the system is using an ancient version which does not support
one of the defaults, or the user wants to customize the command in some
way.
