I enjoyed reading your post. Setting up boundaries with online notifications seems to me like a healthy habit, the same as with afk relationships.
I believe there's a typo in "structure" at:
> overarching structu— look at this funny meme!
Or I misread a pun about the notification interrupting the word itself.
And 2¢ that would otherwise be a comment on the post:
I've used tt-rss for several years and love it.
In Lineage OS I can long-press on a notification to selectively disable that "type" of alert without silencing the whole app. I've found that very helpful.

I agree with the others that it's a great post, I enjoyed reading it (me
agreeing with much of what's written there may have something to do with
it ☺).
One idea I had while reading it is that it might be good to highlight
the thigs you write in direct speech (thoughts) in italic (or with
punctuation, I'm not sure what's more appropriate). I've seen some books
and maybe posts do that with thoughts given literally. This way it
stands out from the rest of the text, and the readers who tend to jump
around when reading can identify it easier.
A comment I had for the post's contents:
It's interesting that all the RSS readers you mention are web
services. Are there any standalone desktop apps worth being listed
there? I have a feeling many people think of a desktop app before they
think of self-hosting a web-service so by touching it a bit you may save
your reader a Google search.
I use Newsboat for RSS, but I don't know if I'd recommend it. The way
it's made feels old, and sometimes it has technical issues (like being
slow or crashing).
