With the first versioned release of both harec and hare, their version scripts --- harec [0] and hare [1] --- did not hardcode the `0.24.0` version as the default, still using `dev`. Is that how the script should behave? From its comments, I believed that the current version would either be hardcode or taken from git, if present, and downstream would only change their versions through the `LOCALVER` environment variable.
