I know the analytics feature was discussed earlier[0] but it seems the discussion there was about a more invasive kind of analytics. I was thinking about something more akin to `wc -l /var/log/nginx/access.log` or maybe with a grep filter for known bot user agents. I don't think retaining access logs or making a broad traffic statistics from it would be an invasion of privacy from the standpoint of the user. Would love to know if this is something that you find acceptable for SourceHut Pages. [0]: https://lists.sr.ht/~sircmpwn/sr.ht-discuss/%3CCGBXPFTHYFMX.20N8H40LSE5A6%40penguin%3E

It would be just useful+interesting to know which pages are most visited, even without IP addresses or timestamps if we really want anonymized data. There /is/ a way to have ethical, non-spyware non-invasive analytics but unfortunately any proposal fall on deaf ears.

SourceHut is not a dopamine dispenser.
