The sr.ht terms of service (https://man.sr.ht/terms.md) say:

...but I didn't get any email about the change that was made yesterday.
It seems no notice of any kind was given about this change:
https://git.sr.ht/~sircmpwn/sr.ht-docs/commit/e14c2d61685112fb82beb1c085095b9bf869a716
Am I missing something here? Shouldn't I have got an email about that 2
weeks ago?

These look like mere edits and not actual changes to the terms. They may not have to be communicated publicity beyond the version tracking logs.
Best,
Charles.

No, these are the terms of service, you can see them by clicking on the
ToS link in sr.ht [1] and check that, indeed, cryptomining does now appear.
While I do approve the changes, they were indeed added without the
preliminary notice.
This is probably just a matter of Drew forgetting, but I don't think you
should make it sound like this is normal: it should not happen (as
stated in the terms themselves).

You are right. What was mentioned about cryptocurrency was not an actual rule but a public mention it was going to become an explicit rule - I had that specific exclusion in mind as a previously accepted before it became explicit, sorry.
Best,
Charles.
This was just a clarification. We already banned people for
cryptocurrency mining under the "impacting service availability for
other users" clause. I just didn't feel that clarifying an
interpretation of the terms was cause for notifying all 20,000 users of
the change.
