I assume since https://github.com/tenacityteam/tenacity/commit/56c953a14d343d77f9bf9abb5a6775add50a185a, Tenacity requires having the actual git repo cloned since having just a snapshot GIT_DESCRIBE is empty and breaks the build. I hit against this trying to package for Alpine.
